Biographie

Bazil was born in Paris, France in July 1988. He was exposed to reggae, soul and hip hop as as child and was influenced by artists like the The Fugees, Otis Redding, Bob Marley, Buju Banton and Bob Dylan. He began writing and singing songs at the age of 15 and started recording a few years later. He moved to New York at the age of 19. There, he met artists like Wayne Smith, The Meditations, Patrice, Anthony B, Yellowman and various other local rappers/singers who inspired him to continue his pursuit of music. His desire to discover music and its origins led him to Chicago, Florida, and of course, Jamaica; where he performed and recorded. In Jamaica he encountered artists Tanya Stephens, Bunny Wailer, Merciless, Capleton and a young, upcoming DJ named Dadda. Il grandit en écoutant du Reggae, de la Soul et du Hip-Hop. Influencé par de nombreux artistes, il a commencé à écrire et à chanter dès l'âge de 15 ans. Quelques années plus tard, il enregistre ses premiers morceaux. De fil en aiguille il se retrouve installé à New-York à lâge de 19 ans.Il y fait des rencontres avec des artistes tels que les Meditations, Wayne Smith, Patrice, Anthony B, Yellowman ainsi que de nombreux chanteurs et rappeurs locaux qui l’encouragent à approfondir sa passion pour la musique. Sa curiosité l'amène à Chicago, en Floride et bien sûr en Jamaïque, où il aura la chance de prendre le micro sur scène et d’enregistrer quelques titres. Il y rencontre également des artistes tels que Tanya Stephens, Bunny Wailer, Merciless, Capleton.. Entre les Etats Unis, la France, la Jamaique et le reste du monde, Bazil continue son chemin.
